Once upon a time
there was a man who gave his 2 sons each a goose that laid golden eggs.

The first son was thrilled and knew he would have one golden egg every day to do whatever he wanted. Every day he went to his golden goose and said "Thank you" to the goose and his father when he collected his golden egg.
Some days he went into the village and bought whatever he wanted with the golden egg. Some days he saved his golden eggs and went into the village to buy even greater things that he wanted. He felt he would never be poor again.

The second son was thrilled and knew he would have one golden egg every day to do whatever he wanted. Every day he went to his golden goose and said "Thank you" to the goose and his father when he collected his golden egg.
Some days he went into the village and bought whatever he wanted with the golden egg, but on the first day, he put one egg aside and tended to it until it hatched. The hatchling grew bigger and stronger every day and one day, it too laid a golden egg. Now the second brother had 2 golden eggs every day.

After many years the first brother's golden goose got old and tired and eventually died. The man was very sad and eventually he couldn't afford to keep all the expensive things he owned. One day, as he grew old and tired, he also discovered he was very poor.

The second brother decided to build a hatchery. Some days he would go into the village and buy anything he wanted. Some days he would add another egg to the nests in the hatchery. The hatchery was filled with little goslings which all eventually grew up to be geese that laid golden eggs.

Soon he had more golden geese and golden eggs than he ever dreamed possible. When his first golden goose grew old and tired and as she drew her last breaths, he held her in his arms and thanked her for the abundance she had shared with him over the years. He promised her he would take great care of all her goslings and all of their goslings.

The second brother had so many golden eggs and gosling that he could help all the poor and needy people in his village and far beyond. When he grew old and tired himself, all his golden geese and their goslings took great care of him until he died. Over the years, he had built so many hatcheries and had taught so many other people how to take care of the hatcheries that they continued to flourish, not only in his lifetime, but long after he was gone. There were hatcheries far and wide that produced golden geese which improved the lives of millions of people who lived happily ever after.
